Reflection document, period 3 2023/2024
- Inlämningsdatum 8 feb 2024 av 19:00
- Poäng 1
- Tillgänglig efter 31 jan 2024 kl 10:00
The seminar in period 3 has the title International opportunities and contexts.
Before you write your reflection you should do the preparations.
The written reflection
Write a reflection document where you address the following points based on the preparations. The document should be 500-1000 words.
- Reflect on how working with students from different countries may or may not contribute to the relevant qualitative target that you found in the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance and the relevant objective of the master's programme.
- Studying abroad is another way of getting international experience. Reflect on the advantages and disadvantages. If you have own experience, use this in the reflection.
- What are your thoughts about working abroad for a limited time, or permanently?
- Why is it important (or not important) to be able to actively participate in scientific or engineering-related discussions in an international context?
- Besides studying or working abroad, in which ways could you improve your skills in working/studying in an international context? Try to think out of the box, for example, consider attending meetups and/or conferences, contributing to an open source project, writing a blog, organizing an exchange with your hobby club, etc.
- Which courses have you taken/do you plan to take in your track? Why?
The document should be written as, or be converted to, a Google document. Set the permissions, so that everyone with the link will be allowed to comment the document. The following video shows how to do this:
If you do not want to use Google Docs for your text, there is an alternative described in the course memo.
Hand in the reflection
The link to your written reflection must be added to your group's Canvas page for this seminar before February 8 at 19:00.
First, check that you are logged in to Canvas (in the grey Canvas menu to the left). You can find your group page by clicking Groups/Grupper in the grey Canvas menu to the left, choose your group (named prosamm group X), click on Pages/Sidor and the page named "period 3 2023/2024: International opportunities and contexts". Then edit this page, adding a line consisting of your name and course offering (prosamm23 or prosamm22) at the end of the document, and make this line link to your Google document by using the chain icon and entering the URL of the Google document. Then save the page. Be careful not to change or remove anything on the page that anyone else has written.
(If you cannot find your group in Canvas, please email Monika Lundell <molun@kth.se> to get a group.)
You will also need to read and comment on the other group members' reflections.
