Reflection document, period 4 2020/2021

Before you write your reflection you should do the preparations.

The written reflection

Write a reflection document where you address the following points based on the preparations. The document should be 500-1000 words.

• Choose a group in the community; you can, for example, choose based on gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, level of education, functional variation, ethnicity or the like. Describe difficulties and opportunities people in that group may have to cope with studies in computer technology or work in computer technology professions. Do not tell which group you are writing about. At the seminar, you will be divided into small groups, where you read each other's texts and discuss which groups the texts are about. (To avoid texts that are too long, please limit this part to one paragraph.)
• What can I / we do to have a more inclusive environment at KTH / in the workplace?
  What advantages / disadvantages can a more inclusive environment entail?
  You may give examples of problems that you have experienced at KTH, regarding accessibility, treatment etc.
• What happens if we do not find out what rules apply and do not reflect on these issues in working life? What could be the consequences for yourself and others?
• How are the issues of gender equality, diversity and equal opportunities connected to the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations Member States?

The document should be written as, or be converted to, a Google document. Set the permissions, so that everyone with the link will be allowed to comment the document. The following video shows how to do this:

Hand in the reflection

The link to your written reflection must be added to your group's Canvas page for this seminar before May 12 at 19:00.

The group page where the reflection should be uploaded will be available from May 7!

First, check that you are logged in to Canvas (in the grey Canvas menu to the left). You can find your group page by clicking Groups/Grupper in the grey Canvas menu to the left, choose your group (named prosamm group X), click on Pages/Sidor and the page named "period 4 2020/2021: Gender equality, diversity and equal opportunities". Then edit this page, adding a line consisting of your name and course offering (prosamm20 or prosamm19) at the end of the document, and make this line link to your Google document by using the chain icon and entering the URL of the Google document. Then save the page. Be careful not to change or remove anything on the page that anyone else has written.

You will also need to read and comment on the other group members' reflections before May 17, 12:00.

Fill in the evaluation questionnaire that will be emailed to you

In a few days (May 12), you will get an email with a link to the questionnaire. The questions are about your perceptions of the program integrating course, your perceptions of the current state of things, and, for second year students, an evaluation of your education. The questionnaire, which is mandatory and anonymous, should be filled in before May 19, at 19:00. 

Have you missed anything in this course?

This is the final seminar of the academic year. If you look at your results in Grades/Omdömen in Canvas you should have "1" for each of the three tasks for each seminar: reflection document, comments and seminar, in order to pass the course. If you missed anything you will need to read the instructions on how to fix this. If a result has not been reported correctly, you should contact your mentor for that seminar.

When you have "1" for each of the seminar tasks and have answered the mandatory questionnaire, you will get the Ladok component of the year (UPP1 for year 1 and UPP2 for year 2), worth 1 credit, reported.
