The computer science master's program, reflection seminar in September 2017
Here you find instructions for how to prepare for the seminar and the group schedule of the seminar. Before the seminar you also need to write a reflection document and read and comment other group members' reflection documents.
Preparations for the reflection
- Read the section "The reflection seminars" in the detailed course syllabus for prosamm17.
- If you are not used to reflective writing, look at this video
Links to an external site.
- Find which group you belong to by looking up your results of the course under grades/betyg in Canvas (year 1 students) or Rapp (year 2 students). Look for "Group number, fall", a number between 1 and 24. In order to make the groups of the same size, some students from the second have got a new group number, so everyone needs to check.
- The second cycle in the Bologna system (see Further reading below) is called avancerad nivå (advanced level) in Swedish. Master's programs belong to the second cycle.
- Read the qualitative targets (examensmålen) for the degree of master according to the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen).
- Read the objectives of the master's program.
- Read about the implementation of the education, the courses and the appendix describing the specializations/tracks (spår) of the master's program in the program syllabus.
- Look at the flow charts Download flow charts describing the courses in the specializations/tracks (spår) of the master's program.
Group schedule
Find your group number in the table below and lookup when and where your seminar will be. The seminar is about 50 minutes, and it is important to be on time. Notice the odd starting times (10 minutes past)! Instructions on how to find the rooms can be found on the webpage Rooms for seminars on the course web.

D-dagen October 5
Next activity in the prosamm course is D-dagen, which is a career fair organized by the computer science in engineering students at Nymble. We recommend every student to visit the career fair, but it is not mandatory. The scheduled prosamm activity October 5 is just a way to assure that every student will have time to visit D-dagen.
Study visits in October and November
The first intended learning outcome of DD2300 is "compare different workplaces and professions relevant to computer scientists". In order to make you fulfill this learning outcome you will visit an IT company each year in the course and reflect on the visit in the next seminar. The study visits 2017 will take place between October 26 and November 23, always on Thursdays after 15.00.
Every student should sign up to one study visit. Sign up between October 9 at 10.00 and October 12 at 17.00 using links that will be published in Canvas.
