After this class, you will be able to:

Design: Collaborate as a group to create a fully-functioning data visualization system.
Defend: Defend your design choices using data and task abstractions.
Critique: Constructively criticize other data visualization systems.
Demonstrate: Explain and demonstrate your data visualization system to wide audiences, from novices to experts.
Evaluate: Elicit constructive criticism from users of your data visualization system.

To achieve this goal, you will obtain foundational knowledge through readings and work on two projects. The course is graded A-F (A>=90%, B>=80%, C>=70%, D>=60%, E>=50%, F<50%). These percentages are computed as follows:

2.	Individual Project	Individual work in a collaborative Wiki. Write and review a Wiki article. Individually graded.	Multiple due dates around end of January	20%
3.	Group Project	Group work, individually graded. Milestones: Forming Groups, Proposal, Sketches, Demo, Final presentation, Final Deliverable Website. The final deliverable is a web page with the working project, a video, and other material. You will be responsible for collecting and displaying the evidence of your progress through individual interviews.	Multiple due dates	70%

We will grade each project on its ability to accomplish the five learning outcomes above. We will post detailed grading criteria for each assignment. We have a strict policy on AI Tools (do not use).
