This is a mandatory assignment required for passing the course.  The student carries out an in-depth pre-study including discussions of method choice and theoretical background with a literature study. The pre-study, or parts of it becomes a part of the  written degree project report. The student iterates on the literature study with the supervisor.

For the pre-study, you may already want to follow a template for the final report. You can find templates here.

The supervisor, or in some cases the examiner approves the final version in Canvas.
