Scenario: It is a Thursday morning, late in the semester, and you get an email about the final essay due in a course you forgot to drop after attending the introductory lecture (which was fun, but a bit too "niche"). The email reads:

Dear Student,

I hope this email finds you well. The final essay for our course, "Irish traditional music: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow," is due in two hours. I have not received your essay yet, and I just wanted to remind you of the deadline.

Please remember that this essay is worth a significant portion of your final grade, and I urge you to submit it on time.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

PS. Your five paragraph essay must address one of the following three topics:

    1. Discuss the role of the accordion in Irish traditional music, how it represented a technological innovation, and the perspectives of its detractors.
    2. Discuss the Sliabh Luachra tradition: its styles, origins, and notable historical and contemporary practitioners.
    3. Discuss the role of gender in practices of Irish traditional music, both in the past and today, and how it can shape specific styles.

In each case, make sure to cite relevant literature. (You must cite at least three sources.)

It is too late to drop the course, and you have only 2 hours to research, write and hand in the essay. Good luck!
