Graded Quiz 2

Quiz 2 evaluates the following material from the course:

• lecture on normalisation 
• sections 14 and 15.1-15.2 from main textbook or 7-7.5 from alternative textbook.

As always, start with the non-graded quiz first and make sure you have grasped what normalisation is and what are the properties that are satisfied in each normal form. You have to be able to reason why we need to decompose and when (given a target normal form). Finally, you should be able to derive attribute closures in functional dependency sets using Armstrong's axioms. To pass the quiz you need at least 2 points.
