Home exam 2016

Welcome to the LCA home exam! You have four days to complete the exam. Answers must be submitted no later than Tuesday November 22, at 19.00. Canvas will save the quiz as you go through it. Do not submit until you are done with all the questions.

The objective of this exam is to ensure that all students grasp what is necessary to actively contribute to the group projects.The exam covers Lectures 1-6 and the corresponding literature, including basic LCA theory and some minor calculation assignments.

Instructions: 

• Answer in English
• Give brief and clear answers. We encourage quality before quantity!
• Calculations must be documented, explained and easy to follow. Providing only a number, without explanation, is not enough.
• Do not forget to proof-read before you submit your answers.

Allowed aid and resources:

• Course book, other LCA literature or web sources.
• Discussions with other students. This is actually encouraged, because we believe that you learn a lot by this.

Not allowed:

Submission of identical (or near identical) answers as other students. This is plagiarism and answers (of both students) will be failed. Submitted answers are automatically tested for plagiarism.

This way, all students will have access to the same information. We can only guarantee that questions will be answered during working hours.

Grading

Maximum points is 50.

Part A: 16 points

Part B: 16 points

Part C: 18 points

To pass the exam (grade E), you will need to get at least 50% of the exam’s total maximum points. If you fail, you will have an oral examination. Oral examination can only give the grade E.

Grade A: 90% (45p)

Grade B: 80% (40p)

Grade C: 70% (35p)

Grade D: 60% (30p)

Grade E: 50% (25p)
