Course syllabus
Examination
The examination is divided into two parts, a project together with a laboratory assignment (3 hp) and a written exam (4.5 hp). The final grade is based on both the exam (60%) and the project (40%). For the project, it is mandatory to hand in a project plan, half time report, final report and participate in the half time and final seminar. Regarding the laboratory assignment, it is mandatory to participate in all parts of the laboratory assignment and to hand in a short laboratory report including calculations of viscoelastic parameters and FE simulation results. Also, the guest lecture of Magnus Björklund, from Volvo Car Corporation is mandatory.
Prerequisites
Base programme CMEDT, BD, M, P, T or equivalent. Fundamental knowledge in solid mechanics (e.g. 4C1010, 4C1020, or 4C1055 / SE1010, SE1020 or SE1055) is necessary and basic knowledge in FEM (e.g. 4E1111, 4C1025, 5C1850, or 2D1260 / SD2411, SE1025, SG2850 or DN2260) is recommended.
