Online vs physical teaching survey - please answer asap

Welcome to the DA2210 course on the theory of science and research methodology!

The DA2210 course includes 10 mandatory seminars in a total of 12 student groups that stay fixed during the course. The first seminars are scheduled Sept 22. For each seminar, there will be a written homework assignment to complete before the seminar. The first of the homework assignments for 2021 will be published at the beginning of next week, and will have a deadline Sept 20.

Last year, the seminars were either entirely online or switched to online after a while due to the pandemic. The experience was that online seminars worked very well in this course, probably because the seminars are based on discussions in small student groups (at most 4-5) students, which tends to work equally well online (and sometimes better, since having 6 discussion groups simultaneously in a classroom is not optimal).

Because of this, we would like you to answer this quiz regarding your personal preferences regarding online vs physical teaching, in particular for the seminars. The group assignment will be made at the beginning of the course based on your answers. Students who do not take part in the quiz will be assumed to be comfortable with either arrangement. We cannot promise that everyone's preferences can be satisfied, but we will do our best to achieve a reasonable solution. The survey also includes a question on your preferences regarding lectures - the answers will be taken into account by your lecturer Johan Karlander, but this will also be influenced by other factors.

The survey has a deadline tomorrow Friday Sep 10 at 17.00. Group assignments will be made and published in Canvas during  next week.

Please make sure that you are logged in when answering the quiz - otherwise your answer will be anonymous and we cannot take your individual preferences into account!

Lectures in the course are given by Johan Karlander who is also the examiner. However, since I coordinate most aspects of the course, please address any questions you may have to me, for example at mnordahl@kth.se. More information will also be made available on the Canvas page as it is updated during the next few days. The format of the course will be similar to HT 2020, though some minor changes will be introduced.
