Module 1 - From Research to IPR
As we have seen, the World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO, defines IP as "creations of the mind". Another version that you sometimes see is that IP is “All the results of your intellectual work”.
Research is the very definition of intellectual work so it is definitely fair to say that a core part of your job as a researcher is to create Intellectual Property!
Here's a schematic overview of how your research generates Intellectual Property that can then be protected.
