Regarding the re-examination on 17.04. 2020:

In accordance with KTH policy in connection with Corona, the exam will go as scheduled. It will be administered on-line. If you plan to take the exam please register for the exam as soon as possible. Those students who register for the exam will receive further instructions about taking the exam. 

Description of the exam is as usual: 

This exam consists of six problems, each worth 6 points. No help is allowed (no books, notes, computers, person, etc.)

Part A comprises the first two problems. The bonus points from the seminars will be automatically added to the total score of this part, which however cannot exceed 12 points.

The next two problems constitute part B, and the last two problems part C. The latter is mostly for achieving a high grade.

Instructions for writing the exam:

To obtain points on a problem, it is required that:

The solution is well presented and easy to follow.

The solutions are neatly written with a handwriting
which is easy to read.

The notations introduced are to be clearly defined, the
logical structure clearly described in words or symbols.
The reasoning should be well motivated and clearly explained. All steps in all
calculations are to be presented clearly and should be easy to follow.

Solutions and answers without correct, detailed and clear justifications
will receive no points.

Handwritten solutions the students will load up on Canvas.  The exam will be proctored via zoom.

Course modules

The course is divided into  six modules. Every module consists of 3 lectures (F), two exercises (Ö) and one seminar (S) and has the structure FFÖFÖS. On the page  "modules" you may find description and contents of every modul, as well as lecture notes and extra exercises. Every seminar which a student passes brings one bonus point to the exam. The course finishes with a written exam. You may find old exams here:  old exams and solutions, also please look at information about exam. There are three exams in an academic year, two regular ones after period 1 and 2 and there is re-examination after period 3.
