Homework
Homework assignments
The course contains 10 mandatory written Homework Assignments (Homework 1 - Homework 10).
These form the basis of the seminars, and must be handed in by the deadline the day before the
corresponding seminar in order to participate in the seminar. The homework assignments are graded Pass,
Resubmit or Fail by your seminar leader, and also reviewed by your classmates in a peer review process.
The Resubmit grade is used for assignments that are judged to be acceptable after revision of minor
errors or omissions, and the student is in this case welcome to participate in the seminar (and can submit
the revision later). Resubmissions can be made until the end of the course, i.e., until the start of period 3,
but not later.
Peer assessment
You will be asked to review the work of some of your peers. This will be done anonymously.
Studies show that peer assessment improves your ability to assess your own work, which in turn
improves your performance. See for example the research article

For some of the homework assignments, you need to review two assignments by some of your classmates. This is a mandatory course activity. We are introducing a new tool, FeedbackFruits, for peer review this year. Because of this, the exact procedure for the peer review will be described later.
Late homework
If you have not handed in your homework you will not be admitted to the corresponding seminar. There will be makeup opportunities
for missed homework, seminars and peer grading at the end of each study period - for seminars 1-4 these are scheduled Oct 17, for seminars 5-10 on Dec 19. Makeup seminars require online signup - a link for this will appear as an Announcement. On the course schedule, these dates are listed as seminars, but note that these days are only for makeup seminars.
