Make Up Routines

There are many students in the course. We will be strict with deadlines to encourage people to complete the course one time, synchronise the work to maximise collaboration and make the work for teachers predictable.

To see when things are due please consult the Schedule and  the corresponding Assignments.

What Penalty
Not attending 2-day session

The 2-day sessions bring all students together from all universities. They are an opportunity to meet new people and strengthen the WASP network. The meetings take two full days from people's schedules.

Actions required for each of these (see also below):

  • Reach out to a minimum of three WASP students that you do not know and which are not from your university and in one of the groups you are in and interview / talk to them over Zoom, or similar. They should be from a field outside your area.
  • Write up a report about what you learned about the work that they do and submit in Canvas. The report should make it very clear that you actually talked to the people. For each person you talked to, the report should give a brief introduction to the general field of study of the student and what the student does more specifically including some key references.
  • Upload the report as a pdf under the corresponding 2-day meeting

Specifically for meeting 1:

Specifically for meeting 2:

  • 2-day meeting 2 exercise
  • Peer-review a deliverable from a conditionally elective task that you did not do yourself.  That is, if you did A, you should NOT review A.
Missing a deadline for an assignment

Actions required:

  • For each assignment there will be an extra task listed for those that are late. An assignment that is submitted after the deadline is not considered complete unless this extra task has been completed.
