Course requirements and reporting results
To pass the course you need to
- actively attend the two 2-day sessions,
- complete the mandatory tasks connected to the four core assignments and
- complete
N of the conditionally elective tasks (see below).
These requirements assume that you complete things on time and attend meetings. Please consult the page on Make Up Routines to see what is required if this is not true.
NOTE: All assignments are individual
NOTE: You are encouraged to use GitHub or similar but you MUST keep your repository private.
Mandatory assignment tasks
- Description Assignment 1: ROS and Sensing
- Description Assignment 2: Perception
- Description Assignment 3: Planning
- Description Assignment 4: Control
You are expected to return the SSD (incl. the two USB cables) and any other equipment you borrowed at the last course meeting.
Conditionally elective tasks
The conditionally elective tasks are connected to the topics of perception (A + B) and control (C)
You all have different backgrounds and from experience we know that it will take you radically different amounts of time to do assignments. Therefore, instead of specifying how many of the conditionally elective assignment tasks you have to do to pass the course, we say that
N is at least 1,
- that you should start with the assignments that will broaden your knowledge the most (i.e. rather do fewer but learn something new from them),
- and that you increase
N if you have time left in the time budget (*) for the course.
(*) 6 hp is defined as 4 weeks of full time work, i.e. 160 h. Consider this the upper limit for the time to spend and deduct 32 h for the two 2-day meetings and you have max 128 h left for the assignments.
Reporting results
We will report the results from the course three times.
- Shortly after the last course meeting when the course ends and everyone that completed the assignment on time and to satisfaction will be done.
- After the deadline 5 days before the Winter conference for those that needed to complement something to their assignments to meet the requirements.
- After the 6-month-after-the-course-ends extra examination deadline. Since the course officially ends 26/11 this deadline is 26/5. If you are not done by then you need to wait until the course runs again.
You can see if you have passed the course by looking at the assignment. When it is checked you are done with the course. We check this assignment by hand when all assignments are completed and we only do that in connection with the three deadlines above. So, if you submit something in March we will not look at it until 26/5 and the Course completed assignment will thus not be checked as completed.
