Projects that groups completed in previous years
For reference and maybe some inspiration many of the project presentations from previous years are available here:
Virtual Poster Session: Tuesday 28th May, 2024, 10:00
Time-table for the project material:
- May 24 - deadline for submission of project report
- June 3 - deadline for submission of peer review
- May 28 - Morning upload video presentation
- May 28 - Attend Virtual Poster Session - answer questions about your project & ask a question about the project you have been asked to peer review from watching the video.
- June 3 - deadline for submission of self-assessment report
Conditions that must be fulfilled to be eligible to take part in the Virtual Poster Session:
- Must submit your project report by the deadline.
- Have completed at least 3 out 4 of the assignments by May 24. This means have uploaded to Canvas a decent attempt by this date. Please do not upload all your assignments last minute as we do not have the capacity to approve a large number of assignments in such a short time. If I see that not a sufficient number of assignments have been uploaded in the coming weeks, I may set an earlier deadline. (Note you still have to complete all 4 assignments to pass course)
What do I do if my group misses the project report deadline or I do not fulfill the assignment eligibility criterion?
- Our group just missed the report deadline, but my report will be ready before the poster session. You must sort out with another late group if they are willing to peer review your report and vice-versa. If you manage to do this then inform me of the groups involved and I will let you join the poster session.
- There is zero chance our group will make this deadline. I will have another virtual poster session in September. Mail me after May 28th if you want to take part in the "Poster Re-Exam" and I will aside some time slots for the session during the end of August/beginning of Sept. Note myself and the TAs will not be able to give you help with your projects after the course ends. (end of May)
- Some members of our group have completed >= 3 assignments before the eligibility deadline and others have not. What happens now? The members of the group that are eligible to participate in the Virtual Poster Session should take part. Those who are not should wait until the re-exam Poster Session. Those taking part in the re-exam poster session can use the same video, report and self-assessment report as used in the original poster session (as I assume everybody in the group contributed to the group project) but they will have to write a peer-review and self-assessment of their learning outcomes for the re-exam. Also to take part in the re-exam you should have completed >= 3 of the assignments.
