You should be able to handle submissions of program code with version control tools. We use Git in this course. Several courses use Git to submit assignments, for instance the programming courses. This is good, since version management tools like Git are also used for that in industry. However, using version management can help you in all kinds of situations not related to programming too. For instance, version manage documents.
