Examination

There are two moments in the course:

  • homeworks and project (pass or fail)
  • final exam (graded)

You have to pass both of these moments to pass the course. You are graded based on your final exam. Grades A-F.

The format of both the home assignment and the final exam is changed in 2022 compared to earlier years.

Homeworks and project

1. There are two compulsory large home works, one at the beginning, and one at the end of the course. 75% correct solution is needed to pass the moment.

2. There are small test after most of the lectures, these hav to be solved before the meetings in class. At least 8 out of the 10-11 small assignments have to be submitted to pass the moment.

3. There is a larger project towards the end of the course.

Final exam

There is a final exam at the end of the course.  The exam is a mix of a short written and an oral part. The written part is followed by an oral examination where the submitted solutions and related questions are discussed. More information follows during the course.

Registration is mandatory for taking the exam and must be made two weeks before the exam date. The registration is maintained by the teacher!

For those who do not pass the exam, there is a make-up exam in June. There is no FX opportunity, since there is an oral examination that handles the borderline cases. See the KTH Schema for exam and make-up exam date, time, location. Note, that you have to register for the make-up exam as well.

Earlier exam problems as well as the solutions of your exam are published under "Exam solutions and previous exams".

If you need to complain about the grading, you can submit complaints through the student service support at EECS Link. Please ask them about the exact process.
