Homework
Homework assignments
The course contains 10 mandatory written Homework Assignments (Homework 1 - Homework 10).
These form the basis of the seminars, and must be handed in by the deadline the day before the
corresponding seminar in order to participate in the seminar. The homework assignments are graded Pass,
Resubmit or Fail by your seminar leader, and also reviewed by your classmates in a peer review process.
The Resubmit grade is used for assignments that are judged to be acceptable after revision of minor
errors or omissions, and the student is in this case welcome to participate in the seminar (and can submit
the revision later).
Because of this double assessment process, we need to ask you to submit each homework twice, in
Canvas for the grading by the seminar leaders, and in Peergrade for the peer review. Be careful with this -
for example, your homework will not be graded if you do not submit in Canvas.
Peer assessment
You will be asked to review the work of some of your peers. This will be done anonymously.
Studies show that peer assessment improves your ability to assess your own work, which in turn
improves your performance. See for example the research article
The assessment cycle: a model for learning through peer assessment

For each homework assignment, you need to review two assignments by some of your classmates
in Peergrade. This is a mandatory course activity.
Late homework
If you have not handed in your homework you will not be admitted to the corresponding seminar. There will be a makeup opportunity
for missed homework, seminars and peer grading at the end of each study period.
