Last Sprint Demo and more

Friday, 12 May 2023, is the day for our final Sprint Demo and Retrospective. The Sprint Demo will be from 8:15 to 12:00 (with breaks).

All teams can schedule their final Retrospective for some time after lunch. The final Retrospective should focus on methods for future projects: good things to keep doing, up to three things that would be worth trying, and maybe some problems that you need to watch out for.

Make sure that all team members have a copy (or photo) of the summaries of good/try/problems from all four retrospectives. These summaries often contain useful ideas for each team member's Individual Project Reflection.

What each team's demo should be like

This time, a designated presenter is announced in advance. If the presenter is unable to present, for any reason, one of the two backups are chosen by the team.

  1. Introduction to the product: what the team is creating. Length: up to 1 minute, with 1 presentation slide.
  2. Sprint summary: what was the sprint goal, did we achieve it, and if we didn't: why not? Length: up to 1 minute, with 1 presentation slide. Why things went wrong (if they did) can be very helpful to other teams.
  3. NEW. Favourite method: which of the methods from the Practices and Tools page in Canvas is the team's favourite? You can describe and discuss two favourites (but not more) if the team is divided about the favourite. Length: up to 2 minutes, with 1 presentation slide.
  4. Live demo of the product prototype. Show each user-story that the team has finished, or summarise if the team finished many small stories. Length: 4 minutes, optionally with 1 presentation slide listing user-stories (with the unfinished ones marked clearly). The demo is important - make time for the demo.
  5. Questions from the audience Length: 4 minutes. Keep the demo on-screen while answering questions. Questions and answers are important - make time for them.

The online Expo

Instructions for preparation is in Canvas, link: Expo: Instructions for Teams. Attendance is obligatory during the expo, but time reports are not used. Instead, you are all trusted to do what is required.

Cleaning out the rooms

On Tuesday afternoon, 16 May 2023, the rooms must be cleaned. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Clearing everything from the tables;
  • Removing everything you (or I) taped to the walls with yellow tape;
  • Restoring all tables to their appropriate position (check the images at KTH Places); and
  • Returning the team's two power extenders (in Swedish: grenuttag) to me.

When a room has been cleaned, I will inspect the room and approve. This can take up to 20 minutes per room. Only after an approved inspection can the 3 or 4 teams in the room leave. The whole room is inspected at the same time - all teams in the room must coordinate their cleaning.
