Final Lecture&Lab -13/12/22

In this course we have learnt the fundamentals of relational databases, from conceptual design to practical system implementation.

The final lecture Tuesday 3-5pm SalA we are going to give you a broader and more cutting-edge overview of database technologies as of today and the foreseen future (next 10 years) which is distributed. To that end, we will take a deep dive into distributed databases to understand what challenges and opportunities arise when a database spans beyond one system, open challenges and prospects.

The final bonus lecture will be followed by a lab and hands-on session on database indices and optimisation.
