Getting Help

There are several ways of getting help. Although you must develop all code completely on your own, you are still allowed to discuss solutions with student peers and pose questions to the teaching assistants. The only strict exception is the theoretical individual exercises, for which you are NOT allowed to discuss the problems with anyone else.

There are three main ways that you can get help:

  • Canvas Discussion Forum. Please write down your question and post it on the Canvas discussion forum. Either another student will answer your question, or one of the teaching assistants will answer. We will try to be as fast as possible in our responses during working hours. Also, please try to help each other by posting questions and answers on the forum. Please do not send emails to the teachers directly regarding problems with the assignments; it is more valuable if all students can get the answers.
  • Hacking sessions. Please join the Hacking sessions! At the hacking sessions, everyone sits down together and works on their individual tasks. There will be opportunities to ask questions and discuss different things both with TAs and with other students. The time slots are available in the schedule.
  • Online office hours (LA). Each week, we will have online office hour possibilities, where students can contact teaching assistants, and get help over Zoom (link: https://kth-se.zoom.us/j/68684761044 Links to an external site.). When you connect, you will be put in a queue, and each of you will be helped one-by-one in turn. We will have office hours around lunch time, on working days when we do not have lectures or hacking sessions. The office hours for the coming weeks are as follows:
    • Week 44: 3/11 Thursday 11-12
    • Week 45: 10/11 Thursday 11-12
    • Week 46: 14/11 Monday 12-13
    • Week 47: 24/11 Thursday 12-13
    • Week 48: 1/12 Thursday 12-13
    • Week 49: 8/12 Thursday 12-13
    • Week 50: 15/12 Thursday 12-13
