Homework & bonus points rules

Minimum requirements for homework

To pass homework part of SF2524:

  • HW1, HW2, HW3 handed in not later than 7 days after the exam

To pass homework part of SF3580:

  • HW1, HW2, HW3 handed in not later than 7 days after the exam. HW4 handed in by HW4 deadline
  • HW1, HW2, HW3: You may skip  problem 1 or 2.

 

Bonus points rules:

+ 1 regular bonus point

  • HWx handed in before HWx deadline

+ 1 regular bonus point

  • HWx handed in before HWx deadline and

      y ALW-problems posed, +y ALW-problems solved (both before ALW-x deadline) in corresponding blocks.

      (HW1 = Block 1, HW2 = Block 2, HW 3= Block 3-4)

+ 1 ALW bonus point:

  • z ALW-problems posed, z ALW-problems solved (both before ALW-deadlines)

For students in SF2524:

  • y=1, z=2

For students in SF3580 (PhD students)

  • y=z=3. If two of HW1,HW2,HW3 are handed in by deadline and three out of four ALW-blocks are done on time, the exam becomes a take home exam.

 

Example: An SF2524 student hands in all homeworks on time but does zero ALW problem + solutions:  3 regular bonus + 0 ALW bonus.

Example: An SF2524 student hands in all homeworks on time and does one ALW problem + solution per block: 6 regular bonus + 0 ALW bonus.

Example: An SF2524 student hands in all homeworks on time and does two ALW problem + solution per block: 6 regular bonus + 4 ALW bonus.

 

Notes:

  • wiki = active learning workspace
  • "wiki posed" = problem posed on the active learning workspace
  • "wiki solved" = problem solved on the active learning workspace, with moderator comments taken into account
  • Regular bonus is added to your exam points
  • ALW-bonus count only for grade A and B in exam (by reduction of grade boundaries)
  • bonus points expire after the re-exam and cannot be used next year.
  • Max possible regular bonus in course: 6 points
  • Max possible ALW bonus in course: 4 points
  • If you have not completed the homework 7 days after the exam, you will have to do the non-completed homeworks next year/round
