In my lecture a mentioned future solar cell technologies including dye-sensitized solar cells also known as Grätzel cells.

Some key points were the long time degradation i.e. possibility to last in the field for 10-20 years. Some facts supporting this are found in the wikipedia entry.

In particular UV and high intensity illumination are troublesome for these cells.

Benefits include easy fabrication on various substrates and possibility to work under low illumination.

An interesting start-up in the field is the Swedish company Exeger with locations both on main campus and in Kista.
