Submit your individual peer review report here.
Each student individually gets to review the report of one other group. The goal is to give feedback to help improve the final version of the report. You will find the report to review (and later the reviews your group got) in your assigned group on canvas, in files. Check the mapping in your group's announcement to see which report you should review.
For the reviewers: your task is to give constructive and insightful feedback, not a grading recommendation. Go through the guiding questions from the first lecture slides (copied below), and comment on how the report answers them and give suggestions on what to change. In addition to the meta-level comment of how the questions were addressed, summarize your understanding of what answers the report actually gives you, in 1-2 sentences/question. Comment on the degree of (technical) depth and abstraction level, what would be better addressed in more detail and what in more broad strokes. Check the format (length, style, bibliography). Comment on whether the information presented is relevant to the topic, well structured, written and understandable. If applicable, comment on the extent of learning that is added to what you got from the required reading. Comment on anything you think might improve the final version. Do not forget to also comment on what you think is already well done and why.
Here are the guiding questions again:
- What is the problem they’re trying to solve?
- Why is it a problem, ie., what is the research gap left by other approaches?
- Why is this important, ie., what happens if the solution works, what if it remains unsolved? Why should we care?
- What is the approach, ie., how do they try to solve the problem, how does it work?
- What are the findings, ie., how has the solution been evaluated, what are the results, what are the limitations, what remains to be done?
Do not include your name in the review, the review will be anonymous to the group that receives it.
Do include the topic of the report you are reviewing, in the document and in the file name.
The review you write will be included in the assessment of your course work, not the review you get.
For when you receive a review from others: give the feedback serious consideration and incorporate suggestions into your final version if appropriate. Take it also as a chance to reflect over your own draft once more and think about possible improvements yourselves. Some of the feedback might be less than flattering, take it as an attempt to help you improve the work and not as personal attacks even if poorly worded.
