Where to buy components

This page tells you where you can buy sensors, actuators, etc., if you need to do so for a future project outside of this course, or because you got excited about the project and want to explore further options.

Sparkfun electronics:

https://www.sparkfun.com/ Links to an external site.

It has many DIY tutorials, learning resources, and a strong community. However, it is based in the US, so ordering from Sweden takes too long. Fortunately there are interesting alternatives, see below.

Adafruit:

http://www.adafruit.com Links to an external site.

Adafruit has become a fair competitor and a great source of creativity for the community, with several projects featured in the products pages and with all one needs for designing with boards.

Electrokit:

http://www.electrokit.com

This is a Swedish retailer that provides most of Adafruit and Sparkfun parts. It is expensive but the delivery is normally fast.

Lawicel-shop:

http://www.lawicel-shop.se Links to an external site.

Similar to Electrokit.

Elfa:

If you want to buy common electronic components such as capacitors, resistors, etc.

(You can also resort to Kjell & co., as they have physical stores in Stockholm, but they have less variety and higher prices.)
