Topic proposal

Formulate a topic proposal, with the following content.

  1. Preliminary title.
  2. Subject area: Indicate in which area or course the essay is a specialization.
  3. Background: A brief explanation of why you want to go deeper into the chosen assignment.
  4. Examined question or purpose: Specify which question you wish to answer with the essay and the purpose of the literature study. Also tentatively describe what your conclusion will be (working hypothesis).
  5. Intended audience: Specify what background knowledge the intended reader should have.
  6. Sources: The thesis must be based on scientific and/or technical references of sufficient quality. List three references that you think will be important for the essay (the final essay should be based on more than that; these three should be a starting point). Each reference should have the title, author, type (book, scientific journal article, conference article, internet source, etc.). If possible, provide a link. You can easily access articles via KTHB's list of databases
  7. Start date and (preliminary) end date: The course is 3 credits, which corresponds to two weeks of full-time study.
  8. Project planning and thesis: Briefly indicate how you plan the work on the thesis (eg how further literature should be found, what the thesis is planned to contain, how the thesis will be structured).

Save as pdf, submit, and notify the course leader to have the proposal assessed.
