Homework

There are 10 mandatory Homework Assignments (Homework 1 - Homework 10).

The homework will be handed in in Peergrade, where the peer assessment is also done. Peergrade is currently being set up for the course.

Homework 1, Popper and Truth,  is now available under Assignments. For the moment, use the backup link to the assignment.

There is also (not yet) a Homework 0 assignment, which is a test of the functionality of the peer assessment system. This is a trivial non-graded exercise, but should still be done by everyone to check that the system works. This assignment will be published when the Peergrade system is completely set up.

Peer assessment

You will be asked to review the work of some of your peers (anonymously). Studies show that peer assessment improves your ability to assess your own work, which in turn improves your performance.  See for example the research article The assessment cycle: a model for learning through peer assessment Links to an external site.

The grading of the homework (pass/redo/fail) will be done by the TAs, and results will be reported in Canvas.

Late homework

If you have not handed in your homework you will not be admitted to the corresponding seminar.

There will be makeup opportunities for missed homework and peer grading.
