Grades

The grade will be based on two components:

  • Presentations of the projects  during meeting 2. During meeting 1 students are divided into groups of 5. Each group chooses one of the suggested  projects. A project's focus  is on reading a paper and possibly making some basic experiments. This is done between meeting 1 and 2.  Each groups  prepares 20/30 minutes summaries of their work on the project to be presented during  meeting 2.
  • Final project submitted in a written form by December 15, 2019. Students are divided into groups of  3, 4 or 5. Each groups is supposed to turn in a written report whose content is an example of an analysis. Each group has to  choose an analysis task, including data, that is suitable for analysis using the tools introduced in the course. Before meeting 3 each group is to prepare  15/20  minutes summaries of their suggested  projects to be presented during  meeting 3.   For the final grade a written report  containing  summary description of  math background learned in the course, the project, methods used, and results is to be turn in  by December 15, 2019.
