Rules for partial exams

Rules for Partial Exams.

No help is allowed during partial exams.

Due to the current pandemic, the course became a distance-course, so you will solve the partial exam remotely.

There will be 5 partial exams in the decided dates:

i) On Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 13:00 to 15:00;
ii) On Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 15:00 to 17:00;
iii) On Tuesday, April 28, 2020 from 15:00 to 17:00;
iv) On Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 13:00 to 15:00;
v) On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, from 10:00 to 12:00.  <<-- Wrongly announced

Students that are allowed with extra writing time (Extra skrivtid) should email the instructor and the teaching assistant at least 3 working days before the partial exam.

The teaching assistant will take care of the corrections and will assign for each partial exam a maximum of 3 points.

If you get the maximum at each partial exam (so a total of 15 points) you will be entitled to pass the course with the minimum grade, that is E. For higher grades you should, on the final exam, have solved problems from all parts of the course.

The final exam should be divided into three parts (part I, part II and part III). Part I consists of 5 problems, each worth 3 points. If you have got 3 points in the partial exam # i, you will automatically get 3 points on the problem i in part I. So you don't need to solve that exercise.

In other words, even if you don't get a total of 15 points in the partial exams, if you get the maximum in a partial exam, then you will solve fewer problems in the final.

Let me highlight this openly: the situation is complicated for everyone and we do believe in the honesty and integrity of our student. Should we be wrong, the consequences will be for everyone who has cheated.
