Homework 8 Ethics

1. Read Walliman Chapter 4 Research ethics
2. Read these twelve Ethical Dilemmas and choose two that you want to work with.

For each of the two dilemmas you chose, write down the following:

• Which are the affected parties in this scenario?
• What actions are possible here?
• What would be the consequences of these actions?

In the next seminar you will discuss and argue for an action plan (what to do) for one of the dilemmas you worked with.

If you are not already familiar with the ethical theories:

• Utilitarianism
• Duty Ethics
• Contract Ethics

then please read lecture notes: Ethics in Science before the seminar.
