After you have sufficiently advanced in your thesis project and can estimate the time of completing your work, it is advisable to send your examiner an email and ask about availability for checking the report and scheduling the presentation. Please observe that there are no predefined dates for presenting your work. Everything is arranged on an individual basis.

Scheduling final presentation

When your supervisor has agreed that the report is ready to be presented, send an email to your examiner for approval for presentation.
Allow time for the examiner to read your report and give comments. Beware that your examiner can decide that the report is not ready for the presentation and ask for revisions.
It is your responsibility to find an opponent for your final presentation. You must inform the examiner about the name and email of the opponent.
When the examiner has approved the report for the presentation, you should agree on the presentation time with your examiner, opponent, and supervisor (your supervisor's presence is recommended but not mandatory).
The examiner shall decide the place and announce your presentation via Canvas announcement.
When your presentation is decided, fill out the self-evaluation before the final presentation.

Finding an opponent for your presentation and an opportunity for your opposition

In the courses DA240X, DA246X, EA246X, and IA250X, there is no registration or sign-up list for the assignment of an opponent.
You must find both the opponent for your presentation and your opposition opportunity on an individual basis.
You can do it via your personal network or by posting an advertisement to the Canvas discussion forum. Also, check the advertisements from other students and react promptly.
Opponent and opposition do not need to be within the same course code. You can find them across the whole second-cycle degree projects in the EECS school. If you are unsure of the suitability of the opponent or opposition you've found, consult with your examiner.
Your opposition is independent of the progress of your project. It does not need to be tied to your final presentation date.

Active listening

The upcoming presentations are announced via Canvas announcements. You can attend the presentations of your interest without prior arrangement, unless specified otherwise in the announcement.
You must actively participate in the discussion, e.g., ask at least one question.
Submit the Canvas assignment before or right after the presentation. Also, you should notify the session chair (the examiner of the presentation) that you are attending as an active listener so that he/she can mark it in Canvas.
