Welcome to the course SF1900/SF1912 in Probability Theory and Statistics!

In this course you will learn about essential concepts of probability and statistics used to understanding uncertainty and making informed decisions. Topics that we will cover include probability rules, random variables, common statistical distributions, the Central Limit Theorem, estimation, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, Chi-square methods, and linear regression. The concepts you will learn in this course are key to analyzing real-world situations such as assessing medical treatment effectiveness, forecasting demand in business, evaluating quality control in manufacturing, detecting patterns in social science data, and modeling risks in finance and engineering.
